Staying Sharp
In my last post, I talked about rest and throwing out my back and, to myself, I promised that I’d take it easy for awhile.
“Awhile” ended up lasted about two hours.
In fairness, that’s more of a try than I usually make so I’m going to give myself a pat on the back and call it a day. I just have so many things I want to make and never enough hours it seems. Besides, I had a funky little ring project just begging to be finished - and I couldn’t help but jump back in!
Right now, we are also breathing the cleanest, clearest air we’ve had in eight and a half weeks. The fires here are still burning, but I think our record-high temps may be relinquishing their grip and snow has fallen up in the mountains.
And the color - holy moly are the trees lighting up! I guess you could say I’m one happy camper right now. Never in my life have I been more appreciative of crisp mornings and deep lungfuls of air.
And now, back to where I started : with rest. I’m taking the next week to visit my brother. No smithin’ and no social media. A whole week to recharge and replenish my creative well before leaping into holiday work with joyful abandon.
The silver will wait, but the autumn color will not - so if you need me, just look amongst the changing leaves and I’ll be there!
