A Preview (Times Two!)

Well…it’s taken me a little longer than expected (this, coming from the person who has perpetually become fifteen minutes late to everything), but I finished up some jewels. These two pieces, along with the three pairs of Juniper earrings, will be in the shop this Saturday, 7/17, at Noon Mountain Time. I’ll be sending an email reminder out, too, a little later in the week - but just know that there will be no password required as with previous restocks. Just refresh the page on the hour and the pieces should appear!

It’s possible that I won’t
Make it up to the mountains
This summer.
I’m like the bees -
Zipping above the waving grasses,
Always headed to the next flower
Around the farm -
And all that business has kept
The siren song that is granite and
Pine-scented air at bay.

But that doesn’t mean I won’t
Visit in dreams - because I know
The topography of my beloved alpine haunts like
I know the cadence of my own breath.
I may not be among the peaks,
But my heart stays tied to them, always.

A luscious cut of Sonoran Gold turquoise sits atop a wide sterling band decorated with floral cutouts and a majestic lodgepole pine silhouette. On the very bottom of the band, so you can hold it close whenever you need, I added a nugget of 14k gold. Just think of it as a small reminder (just for you!) of the places that hold a little piece of your heart.

This ring measures a size 8.5 on a mandrel but will fit 1/2 size smaller due to the width - so it will best fit a size 8!

I’m always measuring the time
It takes me to do things -
Feed the horses,
Get a tomato plant from seed to fruit,
Fix up a house -
But there’s no denying that these
Seasons, which feel so long
To me, are less than a flash
In the wider sense of things.

The truth is that
Everything I build will crumble.
Everything I plant will have it’s day
Before night comes calling.

I don’t see this as a tragedy -
No, truly it’s more of a comfort.
It means I don’t have to fight so hard
To make a mark that will defy
Nature and Time - for that is impossible.
So I’d better just do what I do
For me and for the sake of doing it.

If I am here, in this small and suspended moment,
Stacking stones so they can one day
Tumble back to rest,
I’ll do so with lightness in my heart
Or not at all.

An olive to blue gradient of Emerald Valley turquoise stones sit stacked and suspended below floral cutout medallions. A necklace to help you let things flow and fall and build back up with playfulness - the upper, sequin chain hangs like a 20 inch necklace and bottom of the turquoise pendant hangs 4.5 inches below. The chain is finished (and held fast!) by a hand-forged hook.
