Fluttering
Sometimes, I know just what to write when I finish a piece - the words flow and dance and become a little artwork all in themselves.
But, on the flip side, sometimes a piece just speaks for itself and any words I try to attach simply pale in comparison. This necklace…it’s one of those pieces.
A raw-edged, wing shaped Hell’s Canyon petrified wood cabochon - that looks like a tattered moth wing or a fallen leaf - is nestled between a 14k bezel and the tiniest little diamond that ever there was (which is also held safe in a 14k gold setting). It’s like those few perfect minutes, between the last rays and the first star, where the air takes on a hint of autumn’s chill while the earth continues to radiate heat from a long day spent soaking in the sun. Delicious!
This piece will be in the shop tomorrow at Noon Mountain Time along with the other silver/gold rings from my last post. As our house project winds down, I’m finally getting back into the making swing of things…and sharing this little group of treasures seems like the perfect way to celebrate being back in the studio.
